Chamomile Flowers – Organic – Dried
Why use Chamomile Flowers?
Used for soothing, calming, and relaxing nerves. Improves digestion and has significant anti-inflammatory and analgesic actions so it may be useful for aches and pains as well. Noted for their calming and relaxing effects on both the digestion and the nerves, although chamomile flowers have a wide range of actions in the body such as anti-inflammatory activity and are also beneficial in reducing allergic responses as it contains a number of anti-histamine chemicals. Chamomile can be helpful for the tense, restless horse prone to nervous colic and scouring.
In the case of skin allergies, it can be applied externally as a wash/tea to help reduce itching and irritation.
NOTE: Occasional hypersensitive reactions have been observed in the human population (amongst those who are allergic to members of the ragweed family), however, this type of sensitivity is extremely rare.
Dosage –
Horses – 1/2 – 1 cup per day.
Ponies – 1/4 – 1/2 cup per day.
Storage – Keep the supplied bag sealed or store in an airtight container.
