Description
MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE FLAKES
Sourced from the Tibetan Plateau, 3200m above sea level which is isolated from pollutants and contaminants. We source only human grade Magnesium Chloride Flakes.
Why feed magnesium? Equines cannot store excess magnesium, they need a regular intake and many Australian soils are deficient in magnesium. How does magnesium help? Magnesium can help manage insulin resistance through better regulation of blood sugars. Magnesium Chloride may help improve temperament through assisting optimum nerve function and reducing nervous tension. Magnesium Chloride can reduce muscle tension by optimising muscle hydration, suppleness & function as magnesium is a co-enzyme in enzymatic reactions.
Horses that are tied up or have severe muscle tension can also be massaged with magnesium chloride solution as it is readily absorbed transdermally (through the skin). Magnesium deficient horses who are not receiving hard feed, can be drench/syringe fed the magnesium solution or add it to their drinking water.
Caution – Horses receiving a high calcium or grain diet may need to be fed more magnesium chloride. As will horses grazing on high phosphorous pastures.
Storage – store in airtight containers – e.g. 2kg contains approx 100 maintenance doses
